 | PS3 METAL GEAR SOLID 4 Unboxing Posted: June 12th, 2008 10:32 am (Thu) by Divine Fang Last Edited: June 12th, 2008 10:42 am (Thu) Views: 4060 [Permalink] Tag: Game, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid | | | Finally, the most anticipated PS3 game of the year by Hideo Kojima, METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) has been simultaneously released worldwide today (12th June 2008)! Shown below is the actual box of the Normal Edition of my MGS4 which comes with a free poster. Unboxing the disc case reveals the blu-ray disc as well as the instruction booklet. | | Above: PS3 METAL GEAR SOLID 4 (click to enlarge) | This final chapter of the METAL GEAR SOLID saga is exclusively available in PlayStation 3 Blu-ray disc format with Full HD 1080p support. As printed at the back of the disc case, MGS4 also supports 5.1ch surround sound, Motion Sensor and Vibration Function (PS3 DualShock 3 controller). About METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots In Metal Gear Solid 4, the player Old Snake must navigate the game world in order to progress, using stealth and cunning in addition to traditional combat. It will use the series' traditional third person view with full camera manipulation, but also allows the freedom to play in first-person mode, as well as an over the shoulder view which can be switched from right shoulder to left for easy corner maneuvering. The Close Quarters Combat system will be completely revamped. The player will also be able to interrogate guards for information and supplies... I am surprised that KONAMI actually sent their representatives to Lowyat Plaza (located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) for a midnight sale of MGS4 held 7:30 pm 11th June to 00:00 am 12th June. To the best of my knowledge, there has not been such official event held for console gamers in Malaysia until this. TecAsia (at Lowyat Plaza) which endorsed the event actually started a pre-order program of this game a few weeks before the launch day. If you placed your order online at Play-Asia, your copy should have been already shipped and you shall receive it soon. | | | | Above: MGS4 Front cover | Above: MGS4 Back cover | | | | | | Above: Inside the box (click to enlarge) | | | | Above: METAL GEAR SOLID 4 Poster (framed) | | That's all for today. Gotta terminate Liquid Ocelot now... | | Read or post comment (6 Otaku comments) | gordon (Singapore) Posted June 14th, 2008 1:33 pm (Sat) | snake's last adventure. btw, may i suggest something? firstly, for your comments layout, is it possible to put readers' comments at the top and the comment box at the bottom of the comments? secondly, oldest comments stays at the top instead of at the bottom. cos this is the standard for most blogs like wordpress and blogger. cos people generally want to see comments first instead of the comment box. 2 humble 2 yen. ^^; | | Shin (3rd World) Posted June 15th, 2008 12:22 pm (Sun) | I watch my friend buy this the other day. Will be heading over to his place much more often now to play it (: | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted June 15th, 2008 12:32 pm (Sun) | Gordon, Thanks for your suggestions. I actually did put that into consideration before the launch of this blog. But eventually I decided to put everything "newest" on top of everything else, just like blog entry. New entry steps up, all old entries go down. I'll keep that in mind though. I have minimal visitors as for now so it's not a bother, yet. Thanks again :) Back to MGS4, I am quite disappointed that the game doesn't run at constant 60fps :( Hideo Kojima should have probably designed the game at max resolution of 720p instead of 1080p. The constant 60fps 720p Devil May Cry seems to look better. | | The UltraBeast (Proud Son of Cheras) Posted June 18th, 2008 8:39 pm (Wed) | Hehe.. so when are you putting up that "Microsoft Word" style HTML Rich Text Editor? Sugoi naa.. you still got so much time to enjoy games to the fullest, and still set up photoshoots, write tutorials and throw in coding development of this site to boot... Ever since I came out of my 'retirement', I am just soooo looking forward to my weekends. :p | | The UltraBeast (Proud Son of Cheras) Posted June 18th, 2008 8:40 pm (Wed) | BTW, why even need to show the "You have successfully posted your comments" page, at all? When click confirm, might as well straightaway load and display this page and the comment itself? | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted June 19th, 2008 11:54 am (Thu) | Ultrabeast, I have 'under the hood' reasons for the "You have successfully posted your comments" page. I'll explain further when we meet. Do not plan to do RTE at the moment. I find it unsecure for my current PHP coding and MySQL DB. Arigatou gozaimasu! But the fact is that I'm losing sleep everyday. Bad for my health actually although I'm quite genki. Btw, there's no such thing as "weekends" for me, everyday is a weekday. Man, I think I have a f**ked up brain. | | | | | | |
