| | | WOOHOO!!! Finally... the BIG BOSS EMBLEM is mine and that was just moments ago. The BBE was a great experience, as it is the ultimate challenge in METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns Of The Patriots a.k.a MGS4. There were 3 places where I was stuck for a while. Firstly, it was at the beginning of Act.2 where I was having difficulties saving the rebels but I eventually got over it by ignoring them! Secondly, the Big Mama bike chase in Act.3 was almost pure luck, countless times of reloading the game but with the help of Solar Gun, I managed to get through the final checkpoint of the chase. I have to say that "Auto-Aim" was really helpful when taking off those jeeps with PMC behind his turret. And lastly, Screaming Mantis! This is one heck of a nasty boss, I hate it when she hides her Mantis doll with Meryl! I used the default M4 machine gun and it failed me for more than 30 game reloads, but a while ago decided to try the M870 shotgun out and I took her off in 3 attempts! About an hour later I got the BBE after beating Liquid Ocelot, cheesy. | | | Above: Metal Gear Solid 4 Big Boss Emblem, Haruhi pointing at the title "BIG BOSS"! | As you could probably tell from the above stats, I didn't bother much about the story-telling thus skipped many Flashbacks. Also, from the yellow ribbons shown below, you could tell that I was on my third run in getting the BBE. I shall be working on acquiring more Emblems especially the Assassin Emblem in order to unlock the Assassin Creeds costume, Altair. | | | Above: Metal Gear Solid 4 Big Boss Emblem | During the unskippable credit screen, I immediately ran up to my room and grabbed my Canon EOS 450D DSLR camera, tripod, FREEing's Nagato Yuki and Figma's Suzumiya Haruhi figures to record this accomplishment. ***Yoshaaa!!!*** Equipment: Sony Bravia X300 46-inch Full HD LCD TV, Sony PlayStation 3 60GB, Sixaxis Controller, MGS4 Blu-ray Disc (purchased during its official launch date 12th June 2008) and MGS4 Official Guidebook (didn't of much help in my BBE run though). | | Read or post comment (12 Otaku comments) | Felpe (Chile) Posted July 24th, 2008 4:17 pm (Thu) | Congrats, thats quite a feat. | | jus a loser (Kuala Lumpur) Posted July 24th, 2008 9:52 pm (Thu) | やっとかよ,ついにやったのか?おめでとうございます。i'll be getting it IF i finish Suzumiya haruhi no tomadoi (cause of certain incident くそおおおおおう) & 龍が如く見参(That's ryuu ga gotoku kenzan on ps3 is you dunno)but i'll be collecting all the badges not jus onli big boss MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! btw watsup with yuki n haruhi being there!? get ur bro's スネーク would match the thing more.... | | Fox (SFO) Posted July 25th, 2008 2:45 am (Fri) | "You're pretty good" Haha, get it? That's awesome. I've been postponing my attempt at getting the BB rank.... MGO isn't helping either. Haha. Man, I wish I had your TV. | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted July 25th, 2008 11:29 am (Fri) | @Fox Wow, NICE MGS phrase! Thanks. Hey, wish you good luck in getting your BBE. And oh, I forgot to mention that MGS4 really needs a HDTV, that's why I bought one even if it cost me a bomb. @jus a loser You are gonna collect all the Emblems? That's crazy. The Chicken Emblem is a torture to your PS3. I was rushing so I simply grabbed my tallest figure, Yuki. Haruhi is pointing at the "BIG BOSS" title as shown :) @Felpe Welcome and thanks! | | preston (kl) Posted July 25th, 2008 6:37 pm (Fri) | wahhhh..I still can sense the youthness inside you. I "kaput" long time already or perhaps still struggling with the crocodiles in MGS 3? haha :). Keep it up, strive for perfection is a key to riches. | | samanosuke (London) Posted July 26th, 2008 6:21 am (Sat) | Congrats on the accomplishment and wow, that's a really nice TV! I haven't played MGS4 since the day I got it (if I remember correctly, I just met the little robot, Wall-e, in the battle field ^^) I should definitely get back on the game! Thanks for dropping by my blog, and as for Char, I got her off of Yahoo! Japan Auctions - good luck in your search! | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted July 26th, 2008 10:16 am (Sat) | @samanosuke What?! Since when did Otacon call his Mark II Wall-E?! HAHAHAHA!!! Hideo Kojima is gonna LOL too if he knows about this. Thanks again for your quick reply about Char at your blog! (Added you to my blogroll by the way). | | Shin (3rd World) Posted July 26th, 2008 1:27 pm (Sat) | YOU ARE THE BIG BOSS! | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted July 26th, 2008 1:43 pm (Sat) | @Shin LOL!!!!!! Thanks! Well, I sure hope that someday I could become a BIG BOSS in the real world. Need $$$ to build a mansion for my figurines :p | | Fariz Asuka (Singapore) Posted July 27th, 2008 2:54 am (Sun) | Congrats on getting the BBE.. I surely would be able to get it if I have the game.. ^^ Anyway, I am feeling tempted to purchase my own HD LCD TV for my own room.. The current CRT TV is quite obselete and its deteriorating every day.. Now even the buttons are coming off.. XD | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted July 28th, 2008 11:04 am (Mon) | @Fariz Asuka Thanks! Seems like you are a fan of MGS too :) If I didn't purchase the HDTV, the above MGS4 screenshots would have shown my old 21-inch CRT TV. | | | | | | |
