Tag: Event, Cosplay | | | Animation Comic Game Convention 2008 aka ACGC08 was held at Hall 3 MVEC Mid Valley Megamall and it was an enjoyable and fun experience! Rarely Malaysian have such otaku event organized at this scale where all anime, manga and console/PC game fans gather and compete with each other. There were several events going on during the convention but I was there only for the sole purpose of bumping into some cool and kawaii cosplayers.
Event photography was tough, the subject moved a lot and the indoor lighting weren't sufficient resulting in many blurry photos (I just don't like firing my flash). Moreover I couldn't actually get a good spot to shoot. There were many people who got in my way during focusing. Some were holding up their compacts and DSLRs really high to get a clear shot. However before and after the cosplay competition, I dragged many cosplayers who were loitering around and asked them to pose for me.

There were 2 cosplayers with red hair but I guess your're referring to Reno from FF7. The dude was kinda cool, he skated on the stage. Too bad I didn't bring my compacts for video shoot otherwise would have gotten Youtube videos here.

Dang! I was having a hard time figuring out who the dude with death scythe was LOL!!! Still need some help to point out some actually.
I forgot to mention that I went back early before the winner of the cosplay competition was announced :p

Always glad to have you here, thanks! While I'm really proud of and impressed by some good local cosplayers, I have to say we still have a lot of catching up to do when compared to SG and of course, the Japs! You too, enjoy your Raya holidays!

Well you can't help the fact that it was close to Raya and loads of people already went away for the festive season. I'm sure turnout would've been slightly better had it not been for the fasting period and the holiday closing in. Nevertheless, I had fun. Thanks for the photos! How come you didn't get me during my performance? I wanted to see me do the... WALK WALK WALK WALK XD

Wow! Never expected to get a reply from one the participants here so... WELCOME Reno-san, the cosplayer of Reno at ACGC 2008! You're right, it wasn't that crowded on that day but still I couldn't get a good spot for photography. I did get you... here and here. There are a few more actually but I didn't put them up coz they are blurry *blame you for moving around* LOL!
