Max Factory's ***kira kira*** (bling bling) silver-foiled cardboard packaging makes this 1/8 Suzumiya Haruhi Gekisou version looks like a premium figure! She is my very first figure by Max Factory and I find the build quality is on par with that of Alter and Goodsmile Company masterpieces. However, upon digging back the prototype photo of this figure, I found slight difference on Haruhi's stockings...

Note: Suzumiya Haruhi Gekisou version is also widely known as the Extravaganza version. Entry about Suzumiya Haruhi.

Suzumiya Haruhi

Suzumiya Haruhi Gekisou version was made 3D based on the following illustration. Rin's prediction (see comments) was right, in the prototype figure photo, Max Factory painted Haruhi's stocking colour accurately -dark grey- but in the production unit, they have altered that to a dark khaki green-ish colour. The new colour looks nice, but Max Factory should have put on a real stocking on her for impact, just like how FREEing did to their Suzumiya Haruhi Bunny girls.

Suzumiya Haruhi Gekisou's box is highly reflective and I couldn't shoot it properly with my poor lighting setup :(

I won't say anything more about your pics , you know i like what you do :)

So i'll just say that she's a nice figure , and she'll be my first Haruhi ^^

Max Factory is awesome , better than GSC for me (way better painting quality) . But no one can beat Alter :'( (only Griffon did but only once ^^]

@ Leonia,
Of course!!! ^^ But for once I did consider dropping this purchase because of limited budget. I have had bad experience with SAL so I'll never opt for it again, shipping was super slow -took a month!- The anticipation was just unbearable :( Thanks!

@ James,
Arigatou!

Can't wait to see your review about this Haruhi!

Hmm... Haruhi Gekisou ver. is my first Max Factory figure so I couldn't tell if Max is generally better than GSC (or not as good as Alter), but I'll keep that in mind. Overall, this figure is a happy purchase, yay! Thanks!

@ gordon,
True, if you exclude the 1/4 Haruhi. I think I like her more in the bunny suit :p

Aah, just noticed my guitar string was misplaced *sharp eyes you have* :p No problem after fixing it though!

@ Shinky,
She sure IS! It seems like the price has gone up to at least MYR300 for most popular figurines. *I'm cutting down my pre-orders :(*

@ Rin,
Thanks!
You're right, I am still having difficulties controlling my lighting (and shadowing) :( Need to move my setup!
