| | | ALTER, a very reputable figurine company must have done a BIG mistake approving this newly announced 1/7 Saber Lily figure. It seems that they are ignoring the release of Good Smile Company (GSC) 1/8 Saber Lily ~Distant Avalon~ completely. Today's very quick post features A/B comparison between the two figurines using stock photos (scale ignored).

Highlights: Not only the GCS's partially damaged checker base adds mood to the figure, they also make their Saber lily looks stronger by equiping her with silver armor instead of pearl white armor, including her leggings.

Highlights: GSC's Saber Lily with her already attractive dynamic pose also looks nice from her rear.

Highlights: Based on the upclose photo above, it could also be seen that ALTER got Saber Lily's facial expression wrong and the details of her hair are inferior to that of GSC.
Conclusion: GSC's Saber Lily clearly wins ALTER's Saber Lily by a distant Avalon.

Some people may like Alter's expression while others may like GSC's expression but for me, I prefer GSC's expression since I like figures with serious expression

Both are great figures indeed, but imo GSC nailed it this time. Distant Avalon really looks perfect from every angle.
@ Saku,
For me it depends on the character's personality. As for Saber's facial expression, I don't think a dere dere face suits her at all, makes her look weak. So it's gotta be a serious face for her ^^

At times the prototype version and the retail version are completely different...at times
Who knows, Alter might improve what their figure will look like...

Posted July 12th, 2009 3:42 am (Sun) | personally i'm of similar opinion but i guess some people prefer the more the more reserved alter rendition. also, kinduva minor detail, but it seemed like the scabbard on alter's was done a bit more impressively.
but yeah, i prefer GSC's dynamic pose, unique base and execution on the face/hair so i was able to save money and not have to order both ^^;

Those scabbards design are completely different, but I still like how GSC suspend theirs :) Gah, still a long wait before she's released!
