| | | It's been quite a while since I last made my figurine photoshoot entry! So here goes... Based on Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance, Revoltech Yamaguchi No.067 EVA TEST TYPE-01 New Movie Edition was out in mid-June 2009 but I was not aware of the release nor had the interest to buy any Revoltech until yesterday. The reason was that I failed to locate Alter's 1/8 Ayanami Rei in a local shopping mall and therefore simply grabbed this Revoltech, as I didn't want to leave the figurine shop empty-handed. Duh!

Shown above and below are A-B comparisons between Revoltech EVA-01 new movie edition and my VERY old Limited Model High Grade EVA-01 (belongs to BANDAI's model kit lineup) which was bought in 2000. The movie edition sports brighter and more vivid colour scheme with slightly different design as compared to the Limited Model High Grade. The new EVA-01 also takes the shape of more of a life form instead of the robotic EVA-01 from the TV series in 1995. Sorry GAINAX, I like the muscular and broad shoulder EVA-01 more than the skinny new movie edition.

Thanks! But I really lack of creative ideas to do a full review for poseable figures :p The suggested poses printed on the box didn't quite work out for me. Then I thought this Revoltech EVA-01 articulation was good enough for Bruce Lee's flying kick pose and so I went straight ahead with it for the above photos :)

It's a must-watch even thought it's a 1995 masterpiece. Evangelion was incredibly popular that Gainax is re-making it as Rebuild of Evangelion for the big screen worldwide. Watch the 1995 TV version first since Rebuild is now only about halfway through the quadrilogy.
