 | K-On! Akiyama Mio Posted: October 23rd, 2009 1:04 pm (Fri) by Divine Fang Last Edited: - Views: 2911 [Permalink] Tag: Figure, K-On!, Mio, Akiyama | | | A leaked out snap shot of K-On! tsundere Akiyama Mio found here keeps me wondering which artwork this figure is based on. No doubt, upon seeing her skirt, she immediately reminded a me of the Haruhi Gekisou version. The similarity is rather intriguing that I did a quick Google Image search, but the results were futile (any pointers Mio fan?). K-On! Anime plot via wiki: K-On!'s story revolves around four Japanese high school girls who join their school's light music club to try to save it from being abolished. However, they are the only members of the club, and at first Yui Hirasawa has no experience playing musical instruments or reading sheet music. Eventually, she learns how to be an excellent guitar player. The rest of the club helps her to buy a guitar, and they perform at the school festival. This highly priced Kotobukiya's Akiyama Mio is scaled at 1/8 and will be released in January 2010 while the cheaper Alter's school uniform version will be released some time next month. I have not pre-ordered any scaled Mio yet (only Nendoroid) but my preference is leaning towards Kotobukiya instead of Alter -I find long sleeve school uniform a bit boring :p- | | | Above: Alter's Akiyama Mio | Omake: Wallpaper of Akiyama Mio meido-san! | | | Above: Akiyama Mio 1920x1200 resolution wallpaper |

| | Read or post comment (3 Otaku comments) | Marshmallow (Nova Scotia, Canada) Posted October 23rd, 2009 3:56 pm (Fri) | 6800 (well, I know it says 7140, but that's 6800 with tax, which international people wouldn't being paying) isn't really that expensive... pretty typical price... :| Regardless of price, and even my dislike of Mio (most overrated character ever... there isn't a single thing that stands out on her, aside from a seriously annoying personality), can't wait for this figure, I love the outfit, I wish more figures would have original costumes. | | Leonia (France) Posted October 24th, 2009 5:27 am (Sat) | She is really nice but the alter version will be better. I like clothes on this adaptation, maybe i will preordered her on HLJ (i will cancell her if there are better figure on her release month) | | Divine Fang (Kuala Lumpur, MY) Posted October 24th, 2009 11:44 am (Sat) | @ Marshmallow, For this Koto's Mio, I think it shouldn't go beyond the 6500 yen mark unless they put more details or creativity on her. I agree, Mio is overrated, but at least I don't find she is as badass as Haruhi ^^ (heck I'm a Haruhi fan). @ Leonia, Alter excels in sculpture and paint job quality but I have to say both are great choices. Mio fan won't go wrong with either one of them. Um... or both. | | | | | | |
