Tag: Anime, Suzumiya, Haruhi | | | A rather belated news; "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Complete Blu-ray Box Set" is set to be released this October 22nd and you have probably learned from Haruhi's offcial site that this premium box set will not only include the first and second season of the TV anime (plus many VERY worthy extra Blu-ray contents), the anime itself will include English subtitle!

The cover of the box set is yet to be revealed and many popular international retailers including Amazon, Yesasia and CDJapan are still using a temporary Haruhi image as its cover to date. Animesuki forumer ultimatemegax pointed out an image of what seem to be a magazine scan of the Blu-ray box set release announcement and perhaps its tentative cover (above). The contents of the box set however has been properly outlined and will have the following disc layout:
Discs 1-5: TV series
Disc 6: Bonus footage
Disc 7: Gekisou Live concert
Disc 8: Gensou Concert
The Bonus footage disc will include Anime Promotion Spot, Store Front Promotion Video, Location Hunting Footage and all 8 episodes of "Taniguchi Goes on a Trip of Mysterious Discovery".
More updates coming up when the actual special extra large packaging of this box set is unveiled!
Update: The release date of this Haruhi Blu-ray has been pushed back to 26th November 2010.

I have a few figurines coming in so I haven't placed my order yet. Amazon JP seems to have the best deal out there for anybody interested in buying this deluxe Haruhi Blu-ray box set, and if I decided to get it, it's going to be my most expensive buy this year!
